NOTICE TO PEOPLE WHO WISH TO MAKE A COMPLAINT TO GSOC

GSOC is still open for business and is accepting complaints.  In keeping with the advice of the health authorities we have restricted access to our public office for the moment but the business of GSOC continues.

GSOC  would like to remind people that the best way of making a complaint is by completing the form available on our website, www.gardaombudsman.ie.   If you don’t have access to the internet you can telephone our Lo-call number 1890 600 800 and we can send out the form for you to complete.

Under Section 83 (2) (b) of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 you are allowed to make a complaint at a garda station.  At this time we would ask people to have regard to the health of everyone and avoid attending garda stations unless absolutely necessary.  GSOC asks that you use the alternative ways of making a complaint.  This will help to keep you, your family, gardaí and other members of the public safe and well.

It is important to point out that there are likely to be delays in the processing and investigation of complaints over the next number of weeks as everyone’s health is our priority.  GSOC will try to move complaints along but we ask everyone to have patience in the meantime.

Remember there are GSOC staff at 1890 600 800 to help you with your queries.

Thank you and keep well.
