Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities (NEIWA) - Brussels Declaration

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission continues to work with our European colleague’s from 21 member states as part of the Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities (NEIWA) who regularly engage and the exchange knowledge and experiences in the areas of integrity and whistleblowing working towards the transposition of the Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

The Directive 2019/1937 has to be transposed into Irish Law one year from today’s date by 17 December 2021. On this date and with one year left in this process which will enhance the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law and aims at strengthening the level of protection of whistleblowers within the European Union.
