GSOC seeks new Deputy Director of Operations

The Public Appointments Service (PAS) on behalf of the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has today launched a recruitment campaign for Deputy Director of Operations. This is a senior role within GSOC. GSOC identified the need for a second position of Deputy Director of Operations in its business case submitted in early 2018. Sanction for the post, along with all other positions GSOC sought, was given by Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) in November.

The successful candidate will be required to have:

  • Prior senior level experience in a law enforcement or investigative agency (police service or other agency with legal enforcement powers), with evidence of the development and implementation of strategy;
  • Significant experience of working in the management and investigation of serious crime and in dealing with critical incidents involving investigations which required judgement and decision making in a constructive and professional manner;
  • Experience in providing clear leadership in the directing and reviewing of complex criminal investigations.

The successful candidate will be based in GSOC headquarters at 150 Upper Abbey Street, Dublin 1.

The closing date for all applicants is 3pm Thursday 25th April 2019.
