Patrick F. Sullivan was appointed under warrant by the President of Ireland to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission in July 2018, following his confirmation by the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament.) Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. He is also a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Center for Homeland Defense and Security, Executive Leaders Program and is a former member of the U.S. government’s Senior Executive Service. He has spent his entire career in law enforcement, and is considered an expert in misconduct and corruption investigations. He has testified numerous times before the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. He is the past Chair of the Washington, DC, Liaison Officers Association and is a former member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Terrorism Committee and the IACP Police Professional Standards, Ethics, and Image Committee. His law enforcement duties have taken him to over thirty nations in North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
