Mediation or Informal Resolution

The Garda Ombudsman may refer less serious complaints for resolution by informal means. It might be that your issue can be resolved without the need for a formal investigation.

Both parties must agree to mediation or informal resolution.
You can request a formal investigation at any stage during mediation
or informal resolution.
